The sight grips you. Its an imposing structure and a sight to behold.
That's the highlight of our Florence trip. We visited museums in Napoli, and Roma, but Uffizi Gallery is just more interesting, so many sculptures, very fine arts. Beside the building itself is really well designed for exhibits. Audio-guide is very simple and straight to the point. I regret though that explanations are mostly about the artists themselves, and not the historical context of the artworks themselves. A great 4 hours visit.
Fun area, and lots of choices for dining close by. There are lots of statues to look at that are copies of the famous originals. It’s a good way to see some famous sculptures without going through the museums.
one of the best places to visit. as always in Florence the architecture surrounding the square is stunning but what really stands out is that there is an open exhibition with replicas of various statues and of course Michelangelo's David and also a fountain. There are many excellent places to eat in the nearby streets and cafes to sit in the square.
This little shop was a nice surprise to find. I had heard of the artist before, but did not know that he had a studio in Florence. It's small, but many of his stickers are available for purchase. Fun to see if you are in the area.
A little gem in the San Niccolò neighborhood is definitely the Dhai studio. Enter to get to know the artist whose most famous work is "the shaman", do not be shy, ask her questions, she will be able to tell you a lot of curiosities about the street art of Florence. Also, entering his brush and cardboard studio is magical. Inside the atelier you will find many other works including those by Blub, of which an original is preserved here, and by Ache77, which you can buy
Beautiful place to walk. I really like the big Duomo, it is impressive and a work of art. Only one architect could achieve this and he succeeded brilliantly.
Very beautiful church. It is the center of Florence. You will love the art on its wall. Easily accessible by city buses or by pedestrain also. Also area is surrounded by market. I suggest to go at evening. The lights of shops gives a amazing view.
