Reviews from visitors:
Fascinating history for the beautiful ceramics produced here. Found on our final day. Filled the afternoon with cour & very difficult choices- would have loved to have purchased many items. Such gorgeous colours & designs. Treat yourselves!
Hagop’s friendly service and amazing family history makes every visit memorable and a pleasure. They have a wide variety of beautifully hand painted ceramics and custom orders are available too. This is a “must stop” when visiting the Old City!
Lovely place to buy traditional Armenian craftsmanship. You can find here original handmade ceramics plates and tiles, with plenty of choices and prices. The owner is not pushy and you can take your time to look at the different pieces. We bought 3 different plates and the one in the pictures represents 2 peacocks, symbol of long life. I love it and it will remind me forever this fascinating old city.
We came across the shop while wandering in the narrow streets of Jerusalem and it was one of the nicest surprises of our trip. We have been introduced by Mr. Karakashian himself who kindly showed us the workshop and explained his artworks. Beautiful pieces of pottery are made and sold in this place with a rich history (100 years old family business). Very warm welcome from the shop owner and good explanations of the process. A must do if you want an original souvenir or gift from Jerusalem (unlike the mass produced potteries you'll find in the city, those are real local quality products).
The most traditional (3 generations) as well as newly designed patterns beautiful. Professional and careful attention to quality. Highly recommended
