Reviews from visitors:
The De Bartoli family has been making some of the best wines in the world for 2 generations. Marilena was a wonderful hostess and the wines were amazing
Thank you very much for the tour we were able to book spontaneously. Our guide (Marilena) not only has been the friendliest person on earth, she also spoke English perfectly. But most of all she knew everything about grapes and winemaking and told stories and facts we never heard before. She loves any aspect of wine and Sicily‘s wine-traditions. We even love wine now more than before and can only recommend this tour and winery. This is a very unique place for wine-lovers round the world! Thanks!
Lovely wines. I adore their Marsalas with a special weakness for their Vigna la Miccia.
Their dad the eponymous Marco De Bartoli while I hadn't met him, had a fierce love for this land and its products. He also was reclaiming the glorious past and prestige of Marsala. I thank him for it. His children who run the winery, Renato, Sebastiano and Gippy are cordial, well informed and have the same love of place.
They do tours by appointment and will ship the wine you select practically anywhere.
Their Marsala Superiore Vecchio Samperi aged 10 years is an all meal wine, and they make flinty austere whites, a Grillo called Grappoli di Grillo and other wines that are just really good. A common place adjective but they are good, really good. Renato is the enologist. These are natural wines, they do not water so the vines have to reach deep into the ancient calcareous soil. This affects the grapes and the flavor and minerality of the wines. The care with which they harvest is just something to behold or hear about on a tour.
There is another white I loved the Pietranera, a dry zibbibo. If ever there was a wine made to be drunk with shellfish and fish, especially boiled., this was it.
I adore and adored it.
I miss visting the Samperi facility I was quite the regular there and always hoped for an invitation to their winery on Pantelleria.

Bought in Bolzano by Agostini. Top!
Very nice winery, excellent staff. Wines of great interest, the old samperi is their gem. It was truly a pleasure and a beautiful discovery of this land.
If you are in the area it is a must.
