Terrible hotel.
Stayed for 2 weeks quarantine and food that was delivered was always cold, came at random times and generally extremely poor.
Rooms haven't been updated since perhaps the 60s? Cracked tiles and bathroom with marks. Air conditioning only works if you require to be 24'C - so if you aren't a lizard person then its obligatory to open the window onto Palermo's loudest and busiest Street!
Since leaving the quarantine period, and becoming a "guest", have to eat at 8pm and receive no choice in the meal that is delivered. Usually wait until 20:20pm until you are greeted and receive water or bread, so often just take whats available from other tables.
Breakfast untenable as there's usually 1 worker trying to serve everyone so expect to wait 20 minutes - alas its perhaps a saving grace that means you don't have to endure COLD EGGS. 14 days of cold scrambled eggs in quarantine is enough to satisfy that craving for a lifetime.
Although reception staff seem to acknowledge concerns and offer solutions, there is never any progress seen.
Actively looking to move to another hotel, would NOT RECOMMEND.
Clean rooms and large enough. friendly staff. And has a nice view of the sea.
Nice view on Palermo's haven, you can look at sea and passenger ships (as well as some port facilities). Food contains a lot of meat and pasta (it's Italy!). Not very healthy but tasty. Hotel is a good choice for warm season.
Firstly, this hotel is in a location that overlooks the docks. They have a bearish restaurant and evening restaurant that overlooks this view which is so pretty at breakfast and night. Definitely worth having a drink here just to see sunset and lights of the docks. The standard bedroom was quite spacious and it has all your basics (which is what Ibis is know for) and there’s parking onsite. We stayed for a couple of nights and they kindly gave it to us complimentary but if you’re not staying here, they charge a fee.
The best part of staying here is the staff on reception. They are all SUPER welcoming, friendly and helpful. During our stay, we asked them a lot of questions like where to hire a scooter, car, taxi, directions etc. I also lost a sentimental hat that is a unique design and purchased from Brazil. The staff especially Ludmilla helped me try to locate this and even when I was moving around Sicily, I had the taxi driver drop it at the hotel and they held onto it for me. I’m so grateful that they were kind enough to do this for me. I felt that Ludmilla went above and beyond for us, we did request and ask other things too and Ludmilla would alway try her best to help. I can’t thank Ludmilla enough and highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Palermo.
