Reviews from visitors:
Everything about this museum feels thoughtful! The moment you step through the doors, you’re struck by the cavernous feel of the space. The colors, angles, and curves immediately evoke the feel of Utah and Arizona. The staff greets you politely, I appreciated the fact that a staff member took the time to discuss different membership levels upon my request.
The collection ranges a wide variety of mediums, but I really loved the emphasis on bronze and metalwork pieces! Within the various galleries, visitors are invited to meditate on issues of diversity, representation, and inclusion in American history. As a first time visitor, I was delighted and look forward to returning in the future!
We hosted our holiday party this year at the James Museum and it was spectacular! Working with Valeria and her team was simple. The venue did everything in their power to accommodate our guests and keep us all safe. Communication was seamless. The James Museum's staff set-up our floor-plan exactly how it was envisioned and even came to the rescue with extra charger plates when needed. Our guests loved the private gallery tour and the atmosphere. The security staff kept out unwanted guests and temperature checked at the door. Thank you again for all your help with making this years holiday party a success!
James Museum is a must see if you visit St. Petersburg. Be ready to spend hours. It's full of art about the American west and wildlife from around the world. Paintings of native Americans including some by natives. Also authentic native American jewelry. Stunning oil paintings, brass sculptures and jewelry made from gold, silver and precious stones. We will definitely visit again.
This is a very thorough representation of all forms of art with a western theme, thoughtfully and beautifully displayed. Website gives good direction for parking and description of availability, updated for COVID19 parameters. Docents give clear tours but we look forward to the audio capabilities to go at our own pace.
A beautiful spacious canyon like setting with an excellent collection of Western art including fantastic bronzes. The Native American jewelry section is over the top. Enjoyed the Gay Rodeo Photography exhibit. They have excellent Covid precautions and it’s in a wonderful part of St.Pete with lots of outdoor cafes.
