Reviews from visitors:
Nice place but were not able to get inside bcoz its close due to the pandemic
Worth the travel I feel at peace in Calaruega but please, hold on to your children and help them learn to minimize their voices. Some people truly use those moments to pay respect to the universe and God.
Distant from the main road. Beautiful place, so serene during our visit. Good place for wedding celebrations and retreats.
A perfect place for both those who love nature-viewing and momentary refuge in a far-away place. Its vast surrounding of nature gives you the quiescence you need for yourself in reflection and exclusive time with God. The place is true to its tagline: "Close to Nature, Closer to God". I (and my former students) have been here so many times in the past but I cannot get enough of the peace/tranquility it provides. It is just unfortunate that it is still closed for public visit at this pandemic time. I hope it will open its doors again soon to avid visitors like me. I miss everything about it - - - the Transfiguration Chapel, the Sunday Mass, the hanging bridge, the retreat & wedding venues, the ponds, the gardens, the benches, the flowers and various plants, and the courteous staff.
Rough road, rugged terrain... there's beauty to behold at a distance, there's serenity at hand for those who seek
