Three floors of exhibits, if you're geology fan you'll certainly want to plan on spending at least hour here (if you're in a rush): more like two would better. It's nice that this museum does focus on regional geology and doesn't attempt to display things from all across the world. There's a fair number of pieces of meteorites in one section, which you would hope considering how many meteors have come down in Siberia.
Note: to take photos you'll want to pay the 100 ruble fee at the same time you buy your entrance ticket (300 rubles). Otherwise one of the staff will send you back down to do so.
A very interesting museum! If you go with a child. It's better to take a tour. Very interesting to tell children!

A wonderful natural science museum at the Mining Institute. Collections of minerals and ores of the Urals are presented, there is also a small paleoleontological exposition. It will be interesting not only for specialists, but for everyone in general. Be sure to take a tour if not a specialist ...
I would like to wish the museum further development. In my opinion - first of all towards ordinary people, not geologists, then there will be more visitors;)
You can start with educational / information plates about minerals / rocks / fossils, their composition, conditions of origin, which P / S are associated with them, etc. In general, all that non-specialists and many specialists do not know :). Such information is sorely lacking.
