Reviews from visitors:
The exhibits here were amazing and the staff was great. The only suggestion I would make would be that the gift shop should be overhauled. There's a lot of items that had little to do with the actual exhibits with the exception to the Monet section. I thought it would be nice to have items that were replicated from the exhibits we saw. Otherwise an excellent experience well worth the price of admission
A gorgeous museum featuring a huge and impressive variety of fine arts touching all areas of the globe. The staff is super friendly and helpful; Chris in particular went out of his way to answer our questions and even waited until we were leaving to follow up with us. This is probably the best museum in all of Boston. Definitely worth visiting!
If you want to know the past of human civilization, Boston Museum of Fine Arts is a great place to go. Even with current situation this place has its doors opened to the visitors. Egyptian exhibition is unbelievable! The art of Americas is highly educational. I would definitely go there again and again!
The museum was lovely and also huge. We spent nearly 5 hours here and I feel as though we barely saw half of it's full extent. I will definitely be coming back for a visit soon.
I spent many, many hours here as a student and it is one of my favorite museums in the world, and in one of the most magnificent buildings! I’ll preface by saying the traveling exhibits are normally incredible. I’ve seen Houkusai, Samurai armours, Goya, and more all pass through! The mainstay artworks are as impressive. The Egyptian collection is rivaled only by the Met in NY, and more impressive given that this is the best collection of Giza works in the world and covers all Egyptian periods, having even the rare Roman mummies! The Assyrian and Babylonian works are rivaled only by the British Museum, and amazing to see. They have Maya works unrivaled anywhere in the world, and the American art is the best I’ve seen! The portraits of the Founding Fathers are worth the price of admission alone. George Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and more. Oh, and don’t miss Watson and the Shark!!! This list doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. Much love for the MFA
